Forgotten fruit.

This one of the sights that greeted me during my daily walk. This morning was very dreary and rather cool. I have seen citrus trees lately at the peak of their season, abundant with fruit. Only the canopies of the trees are visible; they are behind the brick walls of the courtyards of various townhomes. One of the trees, near a busy intersection, has a branch that extends far enough for the fruit to fall directly onto the street. Most likely, as the day passes, these will be crushed by automobiles. Forgotten fruit…how terribly we treat Mother Nature.
