I live in Houston, Texas. Photography is a passion and hobby of mine. I’d hardly call myself even an “amateur” at this stage, although I do hope to be able to refine my skills and buy a better camera in the future. For now, I am content with simply documenting the world around me.
The title of my blog “a bene placito” is a Latin phrase that means “at one’s good pleasure” and best describes my photographic approach. Mine is less of a “photo reportage” and more of a contemplation of Beauty and Harmony in their myriad forms.

Who sculpted the Bacchanalia sculpture. And are there any more photographs of it?
The sculpture is called “Young Dionysus with a Nymph” by Giovanni Maria Benzoni. It is part of the Rienzi Collection here in Houston. I took other photos, but it’s rather challenging as it is in a small atrium at the entrance. If you google it, I believe you can find a couple more photographs.
